Homemade Robot Allows Remote Playtime With Inventor's Dog
What do you do if your dog is lonely? You could get another dog or a cat to keep it company. But money is tight, and you can't justify the indefinite cost of caring for an additional animal. The solution is simple! Build a robot that plays with your dog when you're not home. At least, that was the solution Jordan Correa settled on.
We're not a tech blog, and I'm not a tech guy, so most of what Correa is saying about building his robot is gobbledygook to me, but here's what it boils down to: Correa and his wife work full-time and feel guilty about leaving their dog home alone, so he built a robot that he can control from the office to play with his dog during the day.
Here's what the robot can do:
1. Throw a ball
2. Retrieve the ball
3. Dispense treats
And of course it comes equipped with cameras so Correa can see and be seen.
You guys, this is the coolest/cutest/best thing I've ever seen. I really wish I knew more about building robots right now.
You Say.…?
