When I was in third grade, I was hanging out after school with a group of friends at one of their houses. Everyone was having fun taking turns jumping off the roof of the garage into the yard. Except me. I didn't want to do it. I knew I was too clumsy to handle it. But I didn't like being called a chicken either, so I jumped, took a bad tumble and sprained my thumb.
I think a lot of us had a friend or friends growing up that we couldn't keep up with in certain ways, either physically, mentally, socially or whatever. Many people feel like the sidekick in a friendship at one point in their life. For some of you, that's not the case. Which is fine. Good for you. You're winners. But this one goes out to the losers.
