Strolling through New York City in the winter is something like watching a doggie fashion show. It's common for me to feel extreme jealousy over a sweater worn by a pug or boots on a maltipoo, leaving me to wonder, does that come in my size? Sadly, the answer is no. But my fur-covered child (and yours) is truly in luck. Here, 10 cozy and fashionable sweaters you'll be lusting to borrow during this winter that doesn't seem to want to end.
Trixie & Peanut Odyssey Sweater
Unfortunately the cutie models in this photo don't come with the sweaters, but I'm certain your little angel dog will look just as adorable. I can't decide if I'm more obsessed with the stripes, the sleeve length or the handy leash hole on the Odyssey Sweater. It's all perfection. Get it for $28 at Trixie & Peanut's adorable online shop.
Classic Cable-Knit Sweater
This sweater looks like it stepped off the pages of the newest J.Crew catalog -- the gorgeous dog, too. A classic cable-knit sweater never goes out of style and will be a closet staple for your best friend forever. Head to Oh My Dog and grab a few for $15.95 each.
Reknitz Sweater
You eat organic, shop locally and yearn for a way to make your animal's lifestyle ecofriendly, too. Voila! Reknitz sweaters are made from reclaimed cotton derived from preconsumer textile remnants. The sweaters aren't just eco-adorable, they are practical too. They have a pre-cut slot for attaching a leash to the collar and they keep their shape no matter how many times you tug them over your pooch's head. Doesn't get better than that! Starting at $37.40.
Kashwere Leopard-Print Sweater
How beautiful is this Kashwere sweater? And the fact that it's right on trend with the print of the season just makes me weak! Now consider how ridiculously cute the two of you will look when you step out the door in your own leopard-print sweater. It's available on Glamour Dog for $68.95.
Fireplace Sweater With Pompom Hood
If you ever feel guilty leaving the house with Fido's ears exposed to wind, here is a hooded masterpiece to save the day. As if that weren't enough of a selling point, the hood is adorned with a cute little pompom and it's 50 percent wool. Woof! Comes in gray and brown, $44.99 at Eypet.com.
Top Paw Argyle Sweater With Hat
The only issue with this Top Paw Argyle sweater with matching hat is it may make the neighbors desperately envious. I mean, look how amazing it is! Pair with your favorite jeans, um, I mean blue or red leash, and you'll be the hottest duo in town. Find it at PetSmart for $10.
Chilly Dog Monkey Hoodie
It's cold outside. You really don't feel like circling the block -- again. You'd like anything but to smile right now. But come on! Look at that happy monkey on the back of your cozy-warm pup. It's happiness and love all bundled into one, $39.99 at Puplife.com.
Multicolor-Stripe Sweater
This sweet style from Muttropolis, $45, is pretty and preppy with bright stripes and a traditional turtleneck. What better way to brighten up a dreary day than with a cheery wardrobe change, right?
Hand-Knit Cable-Rib Sweater
So you don't feel like making a statement with your dog gear. This hand-knit cable-ribbed sweater from the talented Etsy designer Jenya2 is simple, sweet and oh-so warm. Exactly what you need and just $25.
George French Sailor Sweater
Ooh la la! Your petite chien is ready to hop on a boat in this très chic French sailor sweater, $90, by George. All he's missing is a croissant-shaped biscuit and a yacht.
Haute Houndstooth Sweater
I'm smitten with the idea of houndstooth for a hound. This sweater at ohmydogsupplies.com is retro, quirky and beyond snuggly with a big turtleneck collar, and costs just $19.95. Pair with little red snow boots to complete the look.

thats the dumbest thing i ever heard of. anybody buying a dog a sweater is brain dead
With a name like Billy Bob what would you expect?
LOL !!! Sorry BillyBob....or is that BillyBoob ?? I just love you folks that do
NOT have the capacity to comprehend that SOME dogs actually NEEEEED
to be "clothed" during certain seasons...
The VERY small.....those with very short hair....NO hair....thin hair.....
genetically THIN little dogs..... GET the "picture" ??
My late "Angel" was a 5lb tiny toy phantom poodle that I shaved YEAR ROUND....except her head and "socks"..... She wore clothing from Sept.
thru the following April..... She was NEVER allowed to get COLD....which
she would have gotten WITHOUT her little sweaters and t-shirts and
dresses.......... She had hair about 1/16th of an inch SHORT.... She was
almost as bald as a Chinese Crested.
Trixie & Peanut...Glamour Dog... and Muttropolis are all good sites for getting
attractive and/or fashionable sweaters..... But none of the above are anything
I would particularly want with the exception of maybe the Monkey Sweater....
But that would be strictly for the "cute" factor....being reminiscent of the old
stuffed "sock monkey" from WAY back.....
My little 3 1/2 lb. Yorkie-Poo "Mya"....has longer hair than Angel did ....however... she weighs SO little..... and since her hair is NOT real thick.... right now she is in her "jammies"......with both front AND BACK
legs.....
Yep....BillyBob......my dog has a pair of JAMMIES on !!!! Dang it all.....if the
heat would just stay DOWN and warm the floor too......she wouldn't NEED
these "jammies"...... LOL !!!
I couldn't agree with you more.
I personally like the classic cable-knit sweater. This sweater never goes out of style and will be a closet staple for your best friend forever. Actually, all these dog sweaters look fashionable and beautiful!
