The Doggie Diaries - Tooth-Brushing Time

Pippi's still a young'un, but we know that her teeth won't always stay pearly and white if we don't give them a good brush occasionally. In fact, I have found resources on the Internet that recommend brushing your dog's teeth twice daily! Sadly, Pippi does not have such conscientious owners. We do our part by feeding her a diet of dry (as opposed to wet) dog food and crunchy treats that supposedly freshen her breath and clean her teeth.
Nonetheless, I recently felt she might be overdue for a brush, so I made a run to the pet superstore and found some canine peanut-butter-flavored toothpaste, as well as a little doggy toothbrush that fits over my finger like a thimble. It made me think about all the folks I know who simply give their dogs human toothpaste, which the dogs love, they say, and is probably fine, though some experts say it's not a good idea.
