bed cover picturePawsOFF Protective Bed Cover, PawsOFF

Cuddling in bed with your pets is cute. But it's a lot less adorable when you come home and find that your bed's comforter is covered in fur or, even worse, torn to shreds. Or when you discover that your guest bed has to be remade for last minute company.

But what's a pet owner to do? It can be nearly impossible to keep your pet off the bed when you're not home. Even if you put a sheet or blanket over the bed, a determined dog can easily pull it off or climb beneath it. Plus, it's ugly.

The folks at PawsOFF think they have a solution with their protective bed covers. The thick, fleecy material of the covers is durable enough to stand up to persistent pets, plus it's designed to attract pet hair that would otherwise end up everywhere else. It also features elastic garters to go under the corners of your mattress, holding the cover in place.

We tried out the PawsOFF cover on a bed with a beautiful white comforter. It really was easy to put on, taking less than a minute, and while it didn't make the bed look as picture perfect as it normally does with its fluffy comforter and multiple decorative pillows, it actually looked fairly nice. However, a word to the wise: The PawsOFF cover looks a lot smoother when there aren't a lot of decorative pillows underneath.

The obvious drawback is that, if you're lazy and don't remove the PawsOFF cover, you might end up not seeing your actual comforter very often, which is kind of a bummer if you've worked hard on your bedroom decor. We'd recommend choosing a cover in a color you really like, just to be safe. But in the "pro" column, you'll have that beautiful comforter longer because you're keeping it protected.

Would you use a protective cover for your bed? PawsOFF's products range from $29.99 to $59.99, depending on the size you choose. But you just might have a chance to try it out free. We'll be giving away one of these fab PawsOFF covers next week, so keep your eyes peeled!

I put a sheet or an old bedspread over the bed and use a lint roller to clean the fur off as well.

Why not just resolve to accept the fact that your house smells and there is no keeping up with the feces, urine or hair? Immerse yourself in the filth and be proud to tell your hair covered house guests that you are a proud pet owner.

Don't have a Democrat clean it...they'll take your bed and give it to another Democrat who won't work and doesn't clean.

Mines a bit more complicated. Extra sheet on top of blanket, bedspred turned back so inside part is showing, pets sleep on sheet and turned back bedspread -then just flip bedspread over where it should be, add the shams, all pet hair is between that extra top sheet and the bottom of the bedspread. Pet hair and dander doesn't fly, it's encased, and once a week wash sheets and de-lint the underside of the bedspread. If you aren't allergic and they aren't too posessive, why not sleep with your "babies," lol?

I use twin size tee shirt sheets on my couches and chairs, more for paw prints than hair though. They stay tucked well, wash really easily and come in all kinds of great colors.
