Most of the dog treats in my house smell like, well, dog treats. You know what I mean -- overly meaty, with a scent that stays on your hands long after your pup has licked your fingers clean. So when I found out about the all-natural, organic treats from Big Daddy Biscuits, I was eager to try them out.
The company is named for Big Daddy, an American Bulldog who was found wandering the streets of Atlanta, sick and malnourished. He's since been nursed back to health and loves "helping" his mom, Lauren, in the kitchen while she bakes up the biscuits. They're available in a variety of flavors including Crunchy Peanut Butter, Turkey Bacon Bites and Cheese Bites with Garlic.
First, I have to note that every single biscuit smelled totally appetizing -- and I don't even eat turkey! Stickers on the back of the bag provide information on the ingredients as well as the breakdown of protein, fat, etc. There's no question there about what you're feeding your dog. Secondly, my dogs gobbled them up. This isn't unusual for Rudi, but even Holly (our newest addition who tends to be a bit more wary around treats) wolfed them down and then continued staring at my hand, waiting for more.
If you're in the Atlanta area, you can find Big Daddy Biscuits at various stores and farmer's markets. Otherwise, you can order half pound bags ($8) and quarter pound bags ($4), plus other fun seasonal treats directly from their site. You dog will be glad you did.

Why do they have to appeal to the human... It's a DOG biscuit, make it appealing to the dog... If you haven't noticed, dogs will eat out of the garbage; very happily too!... Why make it appeal to OUR noses, when we don't have to eat it... Make it appealing to the DOG - it's their food!
What's wrong with you??? Dogs are part of the "family" and should be treated as such. Do you want your children eating out of a garbage dumpster??? I for one am glad to see someone take an interest in seeing that our "furry family members" are treated well and eat healty. We as humans treat ourselves to the best foods and drink, why should our beloved pets be treated any differently??
Because dogs would rather eat what we eat you dope. Forget what they have told you in the past. Crappy old dry kibble, bad canned dog food etc.
Don't be ridiculous. She obviously makes the teats appeal to the dog, not the human. You missed the author's point altogether. The author was just trying to say that she thought they smelled fresh, and that was the result of them being made out of healthy, organic ingredients. (unlike the crap in your trash can) Most dog treats are made out of gross meat byproduct and junk that isn't good for your dog. End of story Mr. Conflict.
Where are these biscuits made? I always check the packaging before considering purchasing dog treats for my two pups. Never ever will I buy any treats made in China. If you read the lable - it says......... wash hands with hot water and soap after handling dog treats.
Oh WoW.......... you want to know why???? Those treats are "cured" in ARSNIC - If I have to wash my hands after handling it, WHY whould I give it to my dog???????

Woof Woof!!!
Big Daddy
Its nice if your dogs food smells good to humans. Ever open a can of Liver and Rice at 6am? Yuck....I'll only do that for my dog. Dogs may not care about the "human appeal" but their owners will be thankfull.
I have a long haired Dotsun & would like to know where to get these bisquits are the recipe for it if you care to share it. My little dogs back went out several months ago. I have been looking for some wheels for a dog. He would have to drag his back legs. He let's me know when he needs to go outside so I pick him up and take him out side several times aday. The doctor told me he needed surgery & I would have to go out of town & the surgery would be over 2 thousand dollars. I have been out of work for over 3 years due to health problems and I don't have the money. He is trying to use his legs some know but wheels would be wonderfull. They have them on the internet but they are over $350.00. I just can't put him to sleep. He is a very smart dog. When I pick up my car keys he will beat me to the door. I can say you can't go this time and he will drop his head and go under the table. He will look at me with those big brown eyes and I can say ok you can go and boy he starts making it to the door. He has started trying to do that now so I know he is some better. Before he would lay real still. This happened back in November so I wouldn't let him move around for about 3 months. I just wish I could find someone that has some wheels and don't need them anymore & would let me borrow them are even buy them if the price isn't to high. Thanks & God Bless everyone that reads my comment. Hazel
One thing I always remember if I do not have the "money" for something, perhaps I have the "time" to build my own....I bet you could find blue prints on line probably even free and if you are not real technical, maybe you know another man or woman that is. Ask a school science class to make it there project...then everyone they know would also be thinking brains behind solving your problem.
The first time I ever saw "doggie wheels" the owner had made them out of necessity.
I just bet you could do a fine job of making some yourself , perhaps even doing better than whats on ebay.
Find an old pair of childs rollerblades at the thrift store and you are half way there :) Who knows, when t is all said and done, maybe you'll open a nonprofit organization for disabled dogs, and recycling old rollerblades. Good luck to you!
Always DeAnna
Sure, feed our dogs human food. Set a place at the table for them too. There is no end to the madness.....
Feeding your dogs real food or dog food/treats made from natural ingredients is not "madness"...once I found out what's really in most dog food and treats I upgraded my girl's food right away. Do you think dogs ate "kibble" with chemicals and all kinds of other horrible things and poor quality ingredients in it in the wild? Of course not. And don't go off saying "well they're not in the wild now" because they're still dogs they should still have the diet as close as you can get to what is best for them that they would've had in their natural habitat. And for people like me that consider them part of the family with no question obviously want what's best for them. Since they're not in the wild and you have control over what they eat you should want them to have quality, not garbage. Wet Noses is also a great brand of organic treats.
I love that these biscuits are organic and all natural, BUT I would like to see her add a few flavors that are wheat free. Corn and wheat are all natural, but are two of the top allergens for dogs. Wheat is like peanuts for people .. if they do not have an allergy to it then whole wheat is fine, but itching, paw licking, and bad ears can be helped with cutting out the corn and wheat in their diets.
Ive got a Dog Biscuit for Ya!
I wish some of the humans on here was as smart as my dog!
