Casper's owner, Susan Finden, told the Daily Mail that the driver who hit Casper did not stop after running over the cat. "Casper died from his injuries," Finden said.
Casper was, in fact, crossing the street to catch his usual No. 3 bus when he was struck by the car that killed him. "Casper was quite quick for his age but I was trying to stop him from riding the bus so much," Finden told the Daily Mail. "He had no road sense whatsoever."
Finden posted a sign at Casper's bus stop to let commuters know that they'd no longer be enjoying the company of the cat of whom they'd grown so fond. "He will be greatly missed," Finden said. "Thank you to all those who befriended him."

I am so sorry for your loss Susan I'm sure his fellow bus riders miss him also.Shame on that driver for not stopping and rendering aide to Casper. He was a beautiful angel who's gone home.
I am so sorry to hear about Casper's death, especially in such a cruel & callous manner. I had enjoyed reading about his bus-riding adventures. I felt especially fond of him because my cat is named Casper, also. He is 14½. Rest in peace, little Casper; maybe you will meet my Casper one day in Heaven!
Oh no!! Too sad for words. He was just enjoying himself. Make a bronze and set it by his busstop. That would be fitting..... And track down the driver and make him fund it.....That would be even more fitting.....Doesn't GB have cameras EVERYWHERE?So I've heard but never been. RIP cute kittie. And since your name is Casper, I'm thinking you could haunt that driver into confession..... That would be the ultimate revenge.
hope someone got a good look at who hit this poor eccentric cat. how cool; he discovered all on his own he enjoyed the bus, so .. he rode the bus every day! I'm a dog person but would never hear of a dog doing such a thing. (they would not allow a dog on!). I hope someone catches up to the driver and that driver gets what ought to be coming to them.
Poor Casper...I really don't see how hard it is to at least stop if you hit an animal...Casper was obviously someone's housecat...the driver should have had a heart and at least checked on the poor cat. This happened to me with a cat I owned. Mine was hit by a minivan with a family inside. I saw the driver looking out the window when he slowed down...but they never stopped. He had to have seen me running into the road. I think that is just wrong...well I hope the people who rode with Casper learned a little compassion from him.
