Did your pet's name make list? Flickr/West_Zest

While 'Buddy' and 'Max' held onto the number one and two spot for dog names for the third consecutive year, 'Bella' made her first appearance as both a top dog and cat name -- possibly due to the wild popularity of the "Twilight" series. See if your furry friend made the list.

We named our 11 pound dog SpongeBob Squarepants. He is like the cartoon character in the sense that he will let you walk all over him... he will do anything for your love and affection. And, no... we don't have any children. I, 24 at the time I got him, named him. His nicknames are Spongy, Funny Face, Pongees.

We also have a Rex rabbit named Chesty (after Chesty Puller of USMC fame--husband's also an old Marine) and a new hamster named Murphy (Murphy's Law), but possibly changing to Hamlet.

I have 2 chihuahuas and thier names can change at any time. The male's name started out being Dale, now for some reason, the name Pickle has stuck. The female's name started out being Princess, now it can be just about anything:
Peep, Peepers, Beepers, Beep, Peepa, Beepa, and so on. Kinda wierd huh!!!!!!!! Not sure how it ended up that way, but they come to thier nicknames more than they do thier real names.
