British comedian Russell Brand, best known in the States for a memorable role in the movie "Forgetting Sarah Marshall", has been spending more time in America now that's he's in a tabloid-fodder relationship with singer Katy Perry. There's just one problem: With all his travel away from London, he's had to leave behind his beloved cat Morrissey (named after the legendary lead singer of the Smiths). Now Brand wants to obtain a cat passport so Morrissey can join him in his travels.
"Disappointingly, there's no photo in them, which I was looking forward to," Brand told to the Melbourne Herald Sun. "I was hoping the passport man would look at the picture and go, 'Not that photo -- your cat's smiling!' but sadly that's not going to happen."
While it sounds like a joke, the pet passport system, called PETS (Pet Travel Scheme) does exist in many countries, including the U.S. and the U.K., to help remove the months-long quarantine period that can be enforced when an animal travels internationally. Now pets that have been certified as rabies-free and given an identifying microchip can get a document allowing them to move with their owners easily between participating countries. Hey actually he's super funny. He has a special that runs either on comedy central or spike I can't remember which one, I have it saved on my directv dvr. Its called Russell Brand Live in New York. If you've never actually watched his standup, dont judge yet, give him a chance. He is funny. Just sayin. Not b*tchin.

His 15 minutes of fame????,He's been a huge star in the UK for years, building an empire for himself. He is now making a name for himself in the US because of the few movies he's done in which he steals the movie. So 15 minutes of fame, I don't think so you'll probably turning that minutes to years!!!!!
uhm hes actually pretty funny - followed him for a few years now & i love him. and the fact thats hes growing his fan base in the US i think is really great. so like Tara said - think in years - and nothing else.
Just because someone happens to love their Pet (no matter what it is,Cat or Dog)and in this case Cat ,doesnt make them a loser.Animals become like little devoted people ,they dont judge you ,just love unconditionally.I love my Cat and would want him to be able to travel with me,but sometimes this wish would be unreasonable like this Guy,.If he planned on staying in U.S then bringing Cat over would be fine ,but to travel with it back and forth would just be animal cruelty.
I don't even know who this guy is but the fact he loves and misses his cat make him OK in my book.

Does everyone have this thing of hateing your brother or sister complex? Stop bad mouthing please. Life's too damn short to hear people saying insulting remarks about others. The person in question isnt even there to defend himself. As far as the pet passport. It's certainly different for sure.But its nice to know he loves his pet that much he'd do that. I love my pets as well. If your looking for the perfect gift to give to someone. How about makeing a generous donation to your local ASPCA, humane society or the alley cat foundation nearest you.
