Millan describes how he took Daddy to the home of a friend whose female pit bull had a litter of two-month-old pups. One puppy caught Millan's attention right away. The pup was adorable -- all gray with a bit of white on his chest -- and his "calm energy" impressed Millan. But how would Daddy respond to the gray puppy?
"You wouldn't believe how well it went!" writes Millan. "The puppy immediately lowered his head, surrendering to the older dog and allowing him to smell him all over."
With Daddy's stamp of approval, the gray pup joined Millan's pack and was anointed -- what else? -- Junior. "Since he was already settling into his role as Daddy's protege, we decided to call him Junior," Millan explains in the article.
Junior has already made his television appearance on the current season of National Geographic's "The Dog Whisperer," appearing in an episode dedicating to raising a good puppy. Check Junior out in this video.

What a beautiful dog I love dogs especially pitbulls they are so friendly and loving. its people who torture them that makes them become agressive and end up being put to sleep, they should put the people to sleep instead who abuse them and help the animals.
Amen! Bad breeding and bad people make dogs who are not bad act that way! Instead of banning the breed, as they do in some places, ban the breeding and arrest those who use animals to fight. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to find out where the next dog fight is going to be. That would also take care of a lot of our drug problems!
I agree Heidi, it should be the owners punshished not these poor, innocent animals
KIM- Your right I agree with you thanks for the comment
I am horrified that Cesar's friend is breeding his or her pit bull. He should be fully aware of the pet overpopulation problem in this country. Cesar, you need to educate your friend on the need to spay and neuter one's pets. You of all people should know how many pits are in the shelters just because of people like your friend.
You've obviously never viewed an episode of Dog Whisperer. Cesar always fixes/recommends fixing dogs. Always - without exception.
Irresponsible street breeding and breeding for fighting is not the same thing as breeding for good health and good temperament.
No more breeding people, go look in the Shelters at all the Pitbulls
Beautiful dogs! I just recently adopted a Pit BUll Pup (1 year old) who had been a "throw away". She is wonderful and gets along beautifully with my other dogs. They are great dogs.
I am sorry but pit - bulls are on the bottom of my list of dogs . My medium size terrier / chiuaua mix was attacked by two pit bulls last year at Christmas time. I was walking him when we were attacked from behind. We are lucky that he survived this vicious attack! He had to undergo emergency surgery . I feel that these dogs should not be bred. No one should own more than one of them as they are very aggressive when in packs . And by NO means should they ever and i mean EVER be allowed near a child. !!!!! And NO Ceasar even YOU should not have them . I dont care how sweet every owner of a pit says they are in my own experience they are deadly weapons and people should be licensed to own them just like a gun !
I totally agree Alli. I have a friend who still mourns her terrier that a pitt killed with virtually no provocation. These animals are the same as having a tiger as a pet, or a chimp. They are natural viscious and one never knows when they will attack your child, or your neighbor. There was a man in Houston when I lived there that raised his 2 like his children. While he was out of town, his 80 yr old mother went to his place to feed them. They not only killed her, but ate part of her as well. This wasnt an isolated case. I am not the lest bit interested in hearing what loving creatures they are, they can and will turn on you in a heartbeat and God help you if you are a child or infirm.
alli- I am sorry that your dog was attacked but that is the fault of the owners they are obviously mistreating their dog, I have two pitbulls and five children and I have had many children here over the years. My dogs love people and other animals they are the sweetest most gentle animals anyone could have. All animals need love and attention, they need food and water if you do not give this to them they can be provoked to attack and not just pitbulls any dog. Blame the people responsible for this problem the owners they should be punished for mistreating their dog.The only thing my dogs will do is lick you everyone that knows me knows that my neighbors and friends and family love them.
I have 2 American Pitbull terriers and I adore them. I've not had any problem training them nor teaching them to obey. All dogs will pack together if there is more than 1, that's why the owner has to become the "pack leader". I've had bad experiences with other breeds, my niece was attacked when she was 3 by a blue healer; it nearly cost her an eye. Then, not to long ago I was knocked flat on my back by a black lab that tried to eat my face off. Oh yeah, and I have been bitten twice by a chiuaua. I don't hold any grudges against these breeds. I believe that an owner has to take responsibility for their pet because good dogs start with good owners. But FYI, there are 20+ breeds of dogs that are commonly incorrectly identified as pitbulls.
So I guess under your reasoning all German Shepherds should be banned since my pit bull was attacked by one while out on his daily walk. That dog had mine around the neck and head and who knows what would have happened to him if my husband wasn't able to kick the other dog away. My dog came away from it with gouges in his head and neck and had to go to the emergency vet. Of course the owner said that his dog had never done anything like that before. Irresponsible owners are the cause of these problems. If all dogs were properly leashed and fenced in their yards these incidents would not happen. So please don't blame the breed of dog for their owners' carelessness. Pit bulls are known to be excellent search and rescue dogs, drug sniffing dogs for the DEA, and perform countless other service duties. Please do some proper research on these dogs and learn about the wonderful animals that they are instead of judging on your unfortunate incident. It's a good thing we don't judge people along these same lines, that's for sure.
I work at a vet's office and more chihuahua's and terrier's have tried to bite me than pitbulls. Maybe you should have been more observant on your walk. Maybe you should be aware of your surrondings and realized what other animals are around you. I never let my dogs out of the house without looking to see what's around me that could be a potential threat. And yes, I have a male pitbull that is neutered and an unneutered male Great Dane/German Shepherd mix. Two males can get along even if one is labeled as dangerous by small minded and ill informed people like yourself. And....I also have two cats that get along great with my "dangerous" dog not to mention he's great with small children. Regardless of the breed, if you're not going to be responsible with owning a pet and refuse to train it, socialize it, or pay attention to it let alone keeping it up to date on ALL the vaccinations.....you should do everyone a favor and not own a pet or try to have kids because they both need the same basic care.
What a stupid comment to blame the terrier's owner for the attack. 'Be aware of your surroundings'?? I was walking my golden with my husband (on a leash) when two pit bulls broke through a screen door and attacked all three of us. The owner (when she finally came out) was unable to get her dogs free. Luckily my husband had steel toe boots and kicked the heck out of those dogs until the police arrived and pulled them off us. We were all injured and happily our dog survived. As for biting chihuahuas - how difficult is it to pull one of them off you???? That's the difference between an Uzi and a BB gun!!
Although I love Cesar, I just lost respect. Why is he getting a dog from a breeder? I can't believe he bought a dog from a breeder and pit bull breeding should be outlawed. That breed has thousands of dogs at shelters all over the US and untill they are adopted people need to know those dogs may never have a chance at a good life. Cesar lost respect from this dog owner!!
To all you non-Cesar Millan/Dog Whisperer viewers, he got Junior from his friend and although we didn't read the whole story, the friend is a reputable breeder and not a "puppy mill" owner. He dedicated one episode where he worked with the ASPCA or a non-profit group rescuing dogs from puppy mills. So, he would never get Daddy's replacement from a puppy mill, knowing what he knows from that one episode that nearly broke his heart making because of the abuse the dogs were subjected to. Chillax!!!
Oh, Ceasar! What a beautiful puppy! Our family sure could use your help with getting our dog to accept other dogs. He goes crazy if a dog walks by our house - a block away! Our kids can't even come to stay the weekend with their dog....it's ridiculous. I've never had a dog behave this way.....any suggestions.... from anyone? Other than this silly behavior, he's a great dog! Oh...we did have a dog, but he got sick suddenly last July and died within 24 hours. So sad. So, this dog that we have (a German shorthair) LIVED with another dog! It's crazy to me.
Chris- Do you walk your dog alot or run with your dog they need lots of exercise and need attention just like children,if your dog acts up near other dogs just turn around and walk the other way and keep repeating that. Your dog needs to sniff another dog to get used to it,sometimes it takes a little time but its worth it.Just try keeping your dog at your side first and make your dog heel at your side then just walk if your dog gets ahead of you snap the leash a bit and turn around if you continue like this your dog will get it and he can begin to get used to other dogs.
