DIY Halloween ecard made from cat clip art found on DeviantArt.com

This year we plan to use cat clip art to make Halloween ecards. Black cats are the holiday's unofficial mascot, no?

What is cat clip art? It's a collection of pre-made illustrations of all things cat, which you can download for free or for a small licensing fee online. Free cat clip art tends to be on the low-resolution side, so it works best when used on ecards, rather than printed out.

Here are a few of our favorite sites featuring free cat clip art.
  • Artie.com offers 40 free illustrations including black and white line drawings and colorful painterly clip art.
  • Moskowitz Graphics features cat clip art by breed -- Abyssinian, Bengal, Siamese, Tonkinese. The images are presented as small, cut-out cat photos.
  • Clips Ahoy has pages and pages and pages of cat clip art. Bonus: black cat- and wild cat-specific pages.
  • Karen Whimsy's page features pretty Victorian kitties.
  • DeviantArt.com has tons of high-quality images, as well as animated cat clips.
