When a local woman looked out her window on Monday, she noticed an unfamiliar feline by her fence. The cat was wrapped so tightly in duct tape that it couldn't walk. The woman contacted PSPCA Humane Law Enforcement officers, who arrived to rescue the animal.
The female cat was brought to the PSPCA's animal hospital for medical evaluation. After sedating her, the staff spent about one hour methodically cutting the tape off of the cat with specialized medical scissors (typically used by doctors and nurses to remove bandages from patients without injury).
"She actually looks really great for having gone through all that," the PSPCA's PR associate Liz Williamson told Paw Nation. "It did not remove a lot of fur."
Other than having suffered the cruelty of being bound in layers of duct tape, the cat -- dubbed "Sticky" by PSPCA staff -- was in fairly good shape. Sticky did receive some intravenous fluids to help with mild dehydration, but she was not found to be malnourished. Because no waste material was found in the duct tape after its removal, it seems unlikely that Sticky had been wrapped in the tape for very long, though an investigation is ongoing and no official timeline of events has been established.
As part of the investigation, officials are trying to determine if Sticky has a rightful owner, meaning she isn't currently available for adoption. "She's such a lovely, lovely cat, and she's so great with people that we suspect that she did come from a home," Williamson told Paw Nation.
The PSPCA is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the criminal who wrapped Sticky in tape and abandoned her. Anyone with information should call the PSPCA's cruelty hotline at (866) 601-7722.

Why...WHY...would some sick ***&^^^ do something like this to an innocent animal? I hope they find out who did it, and they get the max penalty they deserve! The only problem is...we might NEVER find out...and even if we did...what's to stop them from doing it again? Will they have learned a lesson??
i am so agreeing. what kind of terd would do that?
even though i don't like cats too too much, that's evil.
That was a sick and cruel thing to do! I also hope they find who did this to such an adorable animal. I'd like to know what happened to the cat after it was saved. Did it already have a owner?
WTF! It makes me sick to think that someone could be so cruel, I hope that when they find the person/persons responsible for this they wrap their whole naked body in duct tape and they are not gentle when they rip it off, then we can see how they like it. I would pity the person that would try and do this to any of my 3 boys, duct tape would be the least of their worries!!!!! I hope if no owner is found that this beautiful cat finds a loving INDOOR home!
Your comments reflect my feelings. You said the punishment for the person/persons actually as I thought. Thumbs-up to your tell it like it isness.
Looks like a future serial killer having some kicks....really sociopathic thing to do to this little creature. Sounds like she got good care and will be OK. Sick sick sick.
Parents need to teach their children not to harm animals. To many kids are left unsupervised and then some stupid kid gets the idea to "tape up the kitty". Let me tell you if I found my kid or anyone elses kids doing this I would tape up the kid and then show him how much it hurts to rip the tape off. And while I did that I would tell him if they did something like that again I'd ....{fill in the thought} that kid would rue the day he ever met me!
It takes a very sick mind to do something this cruel to a little kitten. This is the type of behavior that typically progresses to more extreme forms of violence, such as serial killings. I hope that the police are able to track this person down and prosecute to the full extent of the law. A detailed psychological evaluation is also in order.
I am not really a cat lover, but whoever did this is really very sick. I don't see how anyone can mistreat any animal. Whoever did this should pay the highest penalty allowed by law. (God's Law)
what the h*** who would do such a thing?? she looks like an awesome cat u poor thing ...i would adopt her if not claimed...she is so darn cute i hope the catch the sick bastard who did this...
I am not a cat lover, but this is just so mean! Who ever did this should be really ashamed of him/herself! it sickens me that people would do that sort of thing!
I noticed some people here start their comments with "I'm not a cat lover but..." How is that even relevant? An innocent and helpless creature was abused, that is all that matters. I hope they catch the cruel idiot who did this.
The person who did this should be hung by their eyelids from a tree and completely covered with duct tape and then -- RIPPED.. piece by piece.... from their body.... even that would be too good....
