Here's a piece of good news in the midst of the disturbing, ongoing Jaycee Dugard kidnapping saga: according to People, a small menagerie of pets have been removed from Jaycee's kidnapper's home and will be reunited with Jaycee and her young daughters. Animal control officials recovered from kidnapper Phillip Garrido's house five cats, two dogs (a Rottweiler mix and a Labrador mix), three cockatiels, a pigeon, a parakeet, and a mouse. All of the animals are reportedly in good health and have been well cared for.
Unfortunately, the reunion between Jaycee, her daughters, and their pets hasn't happened yet. People reports that the animals are currently being kept safely in the custody of California's Contra Costa animal shelter while the Dugards remain in counseling. The animals will not be available for adoption by the general public while they remain at the shelter, as Jaycee has indicated her wish to keep her family's pets.
Jaycee and her daughters -- 15-year-old Starlit and 11-year-old Angel -- are reportedly very eager to have their animals returned to them and it's easy to understand why. We desperately miss our pets if we so much as leave for a week of vacation. These three girls are going through something far more devastating than most of us could ever imagine; it's only natural that they would want their beloved pets back.
And, certainly, the presence of their beloved pets will provide some much-needed therapeutic comfort as Jaycee, Starlit, and Angel go through their difficult life adjustments and counseling. We wish them a speedy reunion!

strange to think such an evil couple would take good care of the animals while abusing this lady, and most likely mistreating the daughters as well. whether they were true animal lovers or not, who knows. but i wish jaycee and her daughters well, and hope the animals are returned to them as soon as is possible. that's all i can think to say....

Jaycee chose to live with her captors, and that makes me sick. I understand she had been brainwashed, but allowing her own babies (now young women) to be raised in such a filthy abusive environment....Honesty, Jaycee makes me sick too.

It's a wonder all three of them are as stable as they are. My heart goes out to all of them. Nobody should have to go thru what they experienced. Garrido should be put out of their misery. Stop wasting time and money on the scumbag and kill him! It's the only way to get rid of garbage...throw it out! This country spends too much time on criminals' rights, appeals and crap like that. If they are guilty then they get nothing. Stop trying to analyze him. Just get rid of them. Look at the damage he's done. He took a child out of her home and kept her at his disposal for whatever he wanted and whenever he wanted. He's disgusting and should be thrown in a vat of acid.

The best therapy for Jaycee and her daughters would be to be reunited with their pets. People who know about child-psychology recognize the value of pet-therapy. The young ladies should be home with their mother and enjoy the warmth of being with relatives and their pets. The girls appear well adjusted inspite of horrific conditions and should be left alone.

What a wonderful thing that these most blameless and unconditionally loving family members will be returned to them. Thank God they were well cared for! and may they soon be reunited with those who love them.
Jaycee and her daughter deserve the best. hope they get the animals. Hang onto the good memories and let go of the bad. My best to the three of them(plus the animals)
I have thought about them really every day i can not even think how they live there life the way they did .I hope they get there animals back that is something that kept them busy to forget how they were living .I
I wonder how the animals will adapt to their new home. Jaycee's parents will have a lot of adjusting to do themselves to so many animals. I wonder if the Rotty will bite anyone because of its new surroundings. Will the dogs urinate anywhere they chose in a different home. Will the cats adapt. Oh, lord is it going to be a test of patience. Will Jaycee get her own place to live? Will Jaycee's parents have to move to a larger place that will be conducive to having so many animals?
I assume you are a worry type personality it is cute as i had thought much similar thoughts.then it came to me after what these girls went thru all her family can do is attempt to do all they must for them to horefully be comfortable as they can. After the sad scary life they had been living they more than likely are exceptionally good with the care taking of these animals they did not go to school or have friends that were outside this nightmare except these animals it does seem like it will be alot to do that these animals may not adjust well they are use to these kids that will help some as any parent can tell you that if they lost a kid to something then to actually get them back alive that many yrs later after all the heartbreak,crying,sleepless nights.That they would do everything they could to make it comfortable for the kids.This seems like nothing to them they probably did not have to think about it they surely are all dealing with shock from the sadness that they went through then much happiness that they had located her actually alive that is what is important.
This man and his wife deserve the Death Penalty. What a horrible life those 3 girls lived in a back yard in a series of tents and sheds. And now the Police are finding human bones? What more do they need t know?

I have a friend who is a correctional officer in a maximum security prison. He says that although all inmates' crimes for which they are serving time are not supposed to be revealed to other inmates, that child molesters (or "baby rapers" as other inmates call them) are "always found out somehow and they always get what's coming to them".
I asked if this meant that the CO's share the info with the inmates and then turn a blind eye, and he said "Let's just say that a deep disgust for this lowest form of life is something we share with those inmates." These creeps will suffer. Can't be tough enough after what he put this poor woman through for so many years.
I was molested horribly at age 11 and it left me with severe post-traumatic damages that years of therapy have helped but still not erased. And I still had the love of my family all the while. I can only imagine what Jaycee went through, going through this ongoing abuse while also being taken from her mother and having no one to comfort her. It breaks my heart! God bless her and her daughters!
