Bella Macpherson struts her stuff! Photo: Dogside.com

Bella, a leggy, blond Labradoodle, is following in the footsteps of her Australian supermodel doggy mama Elle Macpherson with a foray into the modeling world.

The aptly named photogenic five year-old dog has inked a "substantial five-figure" deal with Dogside.com, a dog fashion brand located in England, reports the Telegraph. Offering coats, scarves and leashes for the "stylish urban dog," Dogside touts Bella Macpherson, who appears in the company's national advertising campaign, as "Britain's next top dog model."

Perhaps it was inevitable. Paparazzi often snapped photos of Bella trotting alongside her supermodel-mum-turned-businesswoman while strolling through their Notting Hill neighborhood of London.

"Elle is a dog lover and was top of our wish list," Flora Page of Dogside told the Telegraph. "So we were thrilled when she phoned up in person to say that she would love Bella to be the face of our brand."

Some are concerned that Bella's celebrity status will increase demand for Labradoodles -- a cross between a Labrador retriever and poodle -- and spawn unscrupulous breeders, reports the Telegraph. We certainly hope people have more sense than that. After all, what's Bella supposed to do? Hide her beauty under a bushel?

I doubt if this will create any breeding mills for Labradoodles, or any other breed. I'm just curious about fashion designers who may want to include their dogs in fashion shows as well. Valentino, for example, has several pugs.

Its amazing how many hero stories are coming up. I think what she did to rescue and keep the dog was precious. I wish I could tell a hero story but sadly enough I can't. My story is I am and have been for about 7 months trying to buy a GS female baby with parents at home so I could see the mom and pop. Well, the spam email I get are from sick people like the one in Arizona the one in Oregon the one in the Virgin Islands all wanting me to put my money up front. Some saying they will "fly" the dog free. Where are the honest people who are local (and I do specify Miami, Florida) who have one for sale. Some email pictures of dogs but the parents from someone else's email. Yes, she was blessed for rescuing that dog. I am hoping that an angel will lead me to my puppy. and love will begin and a new puppy will join and be a member of our family.
