Grab a saddle and hold on tight. That dog is big enough to be a pony!

I would love to find out the identity of dog #9! This looks just like our old American Bulldog and I wonder if it is one of his pups!

Annette, that is a Great Pyrennees in #9. I love the giant breeds and currently have a Newfoundland and an English Mastiff. Over the years I'v also owned a Great Dane and Irish wolfhound but I've always had at least one Newfy.

I wish I had the pics of my greyhound next to my daughter--- she was only 4 months and my grey (AG) litterally towered over her. My daughter frequently used AG as a leaning post to get up to stand. Big dogs can be great around kids but not all LIKE kids...so if you have one allways keep an eye on them around the kids. As great as they are you should never fully trust any dog not to bite.

I love all dogs big or small. The pictures of the children and the dogs are wonderful. I do hope that the parents of these children never leave there kids alone with these dogs, Big or small dogs never leave small childre alone with them.

I remember reading about the actor Cuba Gooding's Great Dane....a much-beloved family pet of many years. It attacked his son...had the little boy's whole head in his mouth, and severely mangled his face and scalp. Cuba heard him screaming and rescued him. He had the top plastic surgeon flown in from Europe to repair the horrific damage the dog had done.
Ever since then I've rethought my position about large dogs and small children.

I hate dogs...especially mine...I didn't used to until I moved to California and had to move on base where everyone just about has a dog and they do nothing but bark...mine doesn't bark 1/4 as much as the others do...but she craps on my floor almost every day because she is scared to go outside because of a stupid dove that makes a weird sound when it is flying...She was house trained for 8 years before we moved here...been here for 2 years and the last 1 1/2 years she has been afraid to go outside during the day time...but at night...no big deal...because the bird isn't out during the day.

I have the David and Goliath of the dog world. I have a two year old King Charles Cavalier named Finnigan and an English Mastiff named Murphy. Despite their size difference, they are the best of friends. When Finnigan had to spend a week in the hospital because of inflammatory bowel disease Murphy moped around the house the whole time. He even layed on Finn's bed and whined. I love my gentle giant. He is friendly and loving. He loves to hop in bed with me in the morning and snuggle. I don't even mind the drool or the snoring. My only wish is that he would have a longer life span. They live on average 7-10 years.

I remember as a tween growing up my dad found an Irish Wolfhound mixed with English setter puppy at a train station and my younger brother then 5 years old fell in love with him. Mom took him to the vet and we were told he was going to be huge. So mom took him to North Shore and my brother cried so hard we had to go back and adopt him. They were inseparable after that. Now my brother has a Husky who is great with his 3 kids all under the age of 5. Meanwhile I have a Llasha mix and he barks, growls, and tries to bite me when he gets excited and sees another dog. I would not put him with my nephews and neice he would probably try to bite them because they are little.
