"There's no way to feel great about having a monkey slap your face on any level," Ben Stiller told the Associated Press while promoting his new movie, "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian." Reprising his role as Larry, the former night guard at the American Museum of Natural History, required Stiller to get walloped --- repeatedly --- by a feisty little primate named Crystal.
The monkey's trainer egged her on from the sidelines, Stiller recalled, shouting "Get him! Hit him harder! Hit him harder! And then they give it a treat."
He so wanted to slap the monkey back, Stiller confessed, but didn't want to run afoul of animal abuse laws (and get on Crystal's bad side!). Instead, the comic actor was given a fake dummy monkey to smack, whose picture he carries around on his phone. "Weird monkey, creepy isn't it?" joked Stiller. Well, no weirder than getting paid to be slapped by a monkey!
