You watch your pet closely to make sure he eats right, stays fit, and is healthy and happy. Yet somehow, the poor pup still ends up at the vet with the same dreaded, recurring ear ache. Frustrating? Definitely. But take heart, it's not just your pup.
Veterinary Pet Insurance, the nation's oldest and largest provider of pet health insurance, looked over last year's medical claims to pinpoint the most common pet maladies.
Ear infections were the most popular ailment among dogs while lower urinary tract disease were the most common in cats. The top ten maladies made up 340,000 -- close to 25 percent -- of all dog and cat medical claims they received in 2008.

3 Tips for Dining Out With Your Dog
Why Vets Can't Always Smell What You Smell
Dog Catnaps With Kittens

My dog has had occasional urinary tract infections and it costs a fortune. All of us who have pets know how expensive it is for trips to the veterinarian. I found a great pet insurance plan that has saved me quite a bit of money over the years. http://cli.gs/DiscountPetInsurance I think it is the smart thing to do.
I certainly agree with the comment above about the benefits and need for a health care insurance policy for the pets we love. I also have insurance policies from that company for my dogs
When it comes to dogs and their ailments I know that no two dogs are the same, due to a variety of factors, including differences in breed, life stage, health needs, personality, living environment and level of activity. In part, it is due to your dog’s unique health requirements that adding a dietary supplement to their daily nutritional intake is more important than you might think. That's why I do whatever I can to keep my dogs in a state of optimal health. I buy the best food available, which is Life's Abundance and the right supplements from http://petwellnessstore.com .
In this country there are about 45 million households that have a
total of about 75 million dogs. Most of us do our best to train their
pets but never learned the best way to so. Having an untrained or
improperly trained dog makes the experience less enjoyable for both.
I can say this because we got a dog in my house and it was a disaster
for us. We couldn't house train it and the dog was moody and
borderline violent. We thought that we just picked out the wrong dog.
We were about to give him away when a friend of mine suggested, in a
nice way, that maybe we just didn't know how to train it. I gave it
some thought and realized that I had no idea what I was doing and was
just doing what I thought other people that I knew had dogs were
doing. I did a little research and found a training system on line
http://tiny.cc/WellTrainedDog and took a shot. I quickly discovered
that it wasn't the wrong dog, it was me not having the right skills,
that was the cause of the problems. In less than a week everything
turned around and all of the sudden we had the best and most lovable
dog in the world.
My cat, Panda, a female ragdoll, has been getting ear infections; the vet thinks it might be allergies. She is an indoor kitty; what can I do to minimize the recurrence of these irritations? She scratches her neck area too. Mostly the left ear gets inflamed. Vet says no ear mites. I wonder if I have a dust mite or mold problem in the house? Could shampooing the carpet more frequently with a special allergen formula help?
