Couple Finds Their Cat on Facebook

We wish we could say it was because he typed "Meow" into his status update, but it was just good old-fashioned sleuthing that helped reunite a long-lost cat named Bob with his owners on Facebook.

Two years ago, Bob, a 20-pound Maine Coon cat, went missing from his home in East Bethel, Minnesota. His owners Shane and Nicole Meide searched for him for days, posting flyers and walking the neighborhood, but with no luck.

"We were sad. We missed him so much," Nicole told a WCCO-TV reporter.

Two years after he wandered away, Bob was found by a good samaritan who took him to the Coon Rapids Humane Society. The staff was happy to find Bob's embedded microchip identification, but unfortunately the information it held was outdated. The Meides had moved soon after Bob disappeared.
