A horse is a horse of course, of course, unless it's being photographed by Julian Wolkenstein. In that case, a horse is a bewigged beauty perfect for a cheeky, fun photo shoot.
Wolkenstein -- who is an award-winning ad photographer -- says the idea was born of a silly conversation with a friend. But after further consideration, he decided to follow through because, "It is important to do personal projects just for fun," Wolkenstein told the Daily Mail. "Not to sell anything, but just to remind you why you make images, but mostly, and simply, to make you smile."

I HAVE FOUR HORSES ,,I LIKE THE BLACK HORSES STYLE ,,IT REMINDS ME OF MY PAINTS MANE WHEN ITS WET...THE OTHER TWO,,, TO FAR OUT...
that is so cute it defiantly made me lmao
That is adorable :)
Why not?? People do there freekin dogs, so why not the horses..I love it...
I own seven horses. We go to horse shows everywhere. I also own a couple maltese (again, dog shows). I've seen dumb Hollywood like things done to their dogs (very guilty, by the way) but my main (no pun intended) question, better yet, challenge is-- Try it with their real mane, that would be interesteing. Wigs are one thing, but its just a costume. Here, I like the real deal.
Wonderful photography by the way! :) I did enjoy the article.
Hilarious! Wish there were more images though... Just three? Can we call three images a "shoot" or even a "project"? Ah well.
Reminds me of Barbie horses though. As a kid, I remember they always had terribly unrealistic manes... Curls, highlights, tresses so long they dragged on the ground. I'd play with them anyway, but they sure looked a lot different from the real horses I was taking lessons on.
FUNNY, FUNNY, FUNNY.....More please.....I'm a horse owner and lover and this is so funny.....Jobie
I'm one of those horse lovers too. I think they are very funny!! Don't know if the horses like it :) You lucky people who own one!!! I never did. Took lessons but thats about it.
HEY.................................
i want a horse sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! bad i have horse evreything in my room
Get a miniature horse! It'll fit in your room, too! :) Go AMHA! . . . uhh . . . that's the American Miniature Horse Association for all you "big horse" folks out there . . .
I had my own horse from age 14-17 which was, well, I'll put it this way "quite a few years ago", but truly seems like just like yesterday. He was a gelding, half Appaloosa-half Quarter Horse named (Red Rock Pepper) his Sire was "Black Rock Pepper" (full Quarter Horse) Infamous Barrel Racer bred w/full blooded Appaloosa "White Block Salty" = My "Red Rock Pepper"(Pepper) being his nickname, who took after his sire more than the mare bred with, hence, never developed the Appaloosa spots (white, in this case from the mare) but much more like his sire Quarter Horse & became an Excellent Barrel Racer & I still have the Trophies & Ribbons to prove it! "How 'Bout Us Cowgirls" !!!
So,Kate;
Believe me, if you do ever get a horse, it will change your life in very positive ways which will remain in your heart forever! I rode mine every day for hours during summer & after summer, on the weekends. I loved every thing about the whole Horse thing; from leashing him in the small pasture we had, leading him to the hitching post on side of barn, bridleing, saddleing, riding, & then afterwards, unbridleing & unsaddleing, I would brush him down & comb his beautiful mane for an hour or more! Everyday during my last period class of school, Thank GOD, it was usually study hall or Cheerleading practice, all I could think about was going home & riding.
I sometimes would come home from school (High School) drop my books in my room, throw on my old jeans, grab my thick socks, & run out the back door (where my Boots were always kept) before my Mom even knew I was home & Dad still at work for 3 more hours & then think: I have homework along w/Dad's voice in the back of my mind, "During the school year, except for weekends -Homework 1st & then Ride, if there's still time before supper, or there will be NO riding during the school week!" So I would drop the socks I had grabbed from my room into the Boots by the back door, run down to the barn, grab the harness leash & bridle, make the 'clickclick' sound to call for my horse (only horse lovers know the sound I'm referring to & if there is a way to spell it, any horse lovers out there, let me know:), & believe it or not my horse knew my 'clickclick' from anyone else's, including my Parents, (who both had their own horse, btw) and he would canter over to me, almost like my other best friend since I was 6yrs old, "Princess" (a b&w English Shephard/Collie Dog) ! I sware it's true; it was like he was as anxious to take me on a ride as I was to take ride on him! Then I would bridle him, walk him over to our (red "not" white) picket fence so I could step up on it to mount "Pepper" Bareback (the horse, NOT me) & Barefooted (me, NOT the horse) LOL.. with just enough time to do Homework, be ready for supper, Dad's arrival from work, after pleading w/Mom not to tell (which she never did) Thanks MOM, and do it all over again the next day.
Kate, I don't know how old you are, but I will pray for your desire to have a horse, that Only GOD knows what is HIS WILL for you,but I know from experience, riding on Horses is definitely a spiritual experience, so you ask GOD, as well, Okay? You never know!
God Bless, Sherry
Cute . . . but if my quarter horse ever got a hold of one of these wigs she'd work out some way to get it off and then shred it into a zillion tiny pieces. Show horses aside, I don't think many horses out there would tolerate wearing something like that for longer than five seconds. HA! There are horses out there that would spook as soon as they caught a glimpse of a wig! ("WIGS EAT HORSES!!!")
I could not stop laughing! It is hilarious. The horse doesnt seem to mind so no harm done. I love the Bettie Page bangs!
You made my day!! I've loved horses for 51 years and One Day!!
I'm going to own one....before I croak.
We all need a laugh nowadays...the world, the 21st Century everyone looked forward to is way too dark, dangerous and depressing!~~~ It's not like "The Jetsons"!
PS: I have one of the last photos (b & w) of "Misty of Chincoteague" ...she was in her stall on the island, and very, very
old. Most of that story by Ms. Henry was true, and as a child I loved it. Just wish kids' entertainment today was as beautiful and creative....
I love horses but do not have one but if I did I would try the 3rd hair style
1ST PIC= 20'S MOVIE STAR
2ND PIC= CLEOPATRA
3RD PIC= PRINCESS PERSON
Wow! Our horse must get braided for shows, but I wonder if he would even allow us to do something like this!
I Love It, although, I wonder how funny Ann Margaret would think it is, she probably would LOVE IT too. Growing up - from age 14 to 17 we had 3 horses- Mine was half Apaloosa-half Quarter. I have 2 trophies & 7 ribbons for local barrel racing + other Horse Shows. Those were my favorite, always will be, days of my life, it's also the only 3 yrs I lived in Wichita, KS, then my Dad, sold the horses, and back to Texas we went, where the whole horse thing started. The horses were all from Texas and I felt so SAD when Dad wouldn't let me stay home from school the day My Horse (Red Rock Pepper) was picked up by his new owners, I'm getting weepy eyed, so, thanks for the pics.
